As many of you know, I am a huge football fan. This past weekend was the NFL Conference Playoffs, and I was excited to watch the games. It is my favorite day of the year to watch football, so of course, we needed some snacks.
The Queso dip was in the warmer, nacho chips in the bowl. I had some ground beef left from the dip and some wonton wrappers in the fridge. As I brainstormed, I thought of Crispy Cheeseburger Wontons. If you are wondering where to find wonton wrappers in the grocery store, they are in the produce section near the tofu. They are very versatile and are used often in sweet or savory recipes.
The key to these golden nuggets of deliciousness is the assembly. They take longer to assemble than cook. If you have some small hands around, grab them and have them help out. Once assembled, the accouterments and dipping sauces are essential for the snack. We opted for chopped dill pickles, ketchup, the ever acclaimed Chick-fil-a sauce, and a bit of flaked sea salt!
I have detailed the recipe below. Also, break out the air fryer for this recipe because you will need it.
1/2 lb ground beef (80/20)
8 slices American cheese
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp salt
30 wonton wrappers
Non-stick cooking spray
Assembly:
Note: if you do not have an air fryer, you can place them on a cookie sheet and bake at 400 for 10-15 minutes or until crispy.
